A. * Eyes - Black; Hair - Black; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 8" * Occupation at enrollment - Farmer * He was in the following battles: Chancelorsville; Weldon R. R.; Popular Grove Church; Peebles Farm; Raid to Bellfield; Harches Run and was mortally wounded in the bowels with a Minnie ball at Dabney's Mill Feb. 6, 1865 and died Feb. 7, 1865 * Jan. 27, 1865 he got pretty drunk on whiskey, and the boys had their fun with him all day in having him talk in English, as he won't speak anything but German when sober.
