Ream, Garrett

* Born Dec. 30, 1830 
* Died June 13, 1933 age 91 years 
* Buried in Berkey Cemetery, Paint Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Principal Musician Co. B 29th Indiana Regiment Infantry Field Staff 
* Enlisted Sept. 2, 1861 at LaPorte, Indiana at age 31 
* He was injured in the fall of 1862 at Stone River while carrying an injured 
soldier off the battlefield 
* He was taken to Regimental Hospital where he was treated for three months 
* Discharged Dec. 1863 
* Re-enlisted as a veteran and received the usual 30 day leave 
* Promoted to Fife Major 
* Served Aug. 9, 1861 - Dec. 22, 1865 
* Served Dec. 23, 1863 - Dec. 2, 1865 - 22 month 9 days 
* Disability - Spinal disease 
* He was in the following battles: Stone River, Liberty Gap, Shiloh, Laverne, 
Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge and Look Out Mt. 
* Discharged June 12, 1865 
* Invalid Pension: Applied July 18, 1890 and Feb. 23, 1907, Application #859725, 
Certificate #589144
