* Died Feb. 21, 1926 
* Buried in Berlin I. O. O. F. Cemetery, Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 to serve 3 years or the duration at age 27 in Berlin, 
Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Enlisted the day after his wedding 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* While erecting a fort for the Defense of Washington, D. C. he was injured by a 
falling tree. He was transferred to the 2nd Battalion 109th Invalid Corps on 
Mar. 27, 1864 
* Private in Lieutenant Gabriel Tuthill's Co. 109th 2nd Battalion Veteran 
Reserve Corps 
* Discharged July 3, 1865 at Pittsburgh, Pa, by reason of G. O. #116 A. G. O. 
Series of 1865
