Ream, Norman Bruce

* Born Nov. 5, 1844 in Lower Turkeyfoot Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Died Feb. 9, 1915 
* Funeral services were held in New York 
* Pallbearer at his funeral was Robert Todd Lincoln the son of Abraham Lincoln. 
* 1st Lieutenant Co. H 85th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enlisted on Oct. 1, 1861, more than a month before his 17th birthday. 
* Very possibly the youngest commissioned officer in the Union Army who rose 
from the ranks. 
* Promoted from Sergeant to 2nd Lieutenant Dec. 1861 
* Promoted from 2nd Lieutenant to 1st Lieutenant May 1, 1863 
* Wounded June 17, 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia 
* Resigned Aug. 31, 1864 
* Discharged Sept. 1, 1864 
* When he died his estate was $40,000,000 dollars 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Dec. 19, 1864, Application #56946, Certificate #41316
