* Born in Alleghany Co. Md. 
* Died Nov. 8, 1925 in National Soldiers Home, Dayton, Ohio age 100 years 0 
month 6 days 
* Co. B 3rd Regiment Md. Infantry 
* Enlisted Dec. 28, 1861 to serve 3 years or duration 
* He was in the following battles: Franklin, Wardensville, Moorefield, Harpers 
Ferry, Fair Oaks, Snickers Gap and Charlestown 
* Wounded at Fair Oaks - Shot through right leg 
* Captured at Charlestown a short time before the war ended 
* Released soon after his capture 
* Discharged May 29, 1865 in Baltimore, Md. 
* Residence - Lived in Elk Lick Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. before he spent his last 
10 years in the Soldiers Home in Dayton, Ohio 
* Veteran 
* Invalid Pension: Applied June 6, 1882 and Feb. 20, 1907, Application #451482,
