* Died July 7, 1878 
* Buried I. O. O. F. Cemetery, Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. H 2nd Regiment Maryland Potomac Home Brigade Infantry 
* Enlisted Aug. 24, 1861 at age 20 in Cumberland, Md. for 3 years service 
* Occupation at enlistment - Farmer 
* Height - 5' 11 1/2" 
* Eyes - Grey, Hair - Light, Complexion - Fair 
* He was unfit for duty 34 days out of two months 
* Severe injury to his right shoulder on Sept. 17, 1861 in a fall to a hard 
floor while he was playfully wrestling. 
* Discharged Oct. 22, 1861 at Camp Thomas, Cumberland, Md.
