* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 11, 1862 at age 18 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Captain Saylor 
* Transferred to Co. C 24th Regiment Veteran Reserve Corps July 1, 1864 
* Discharged by General order June 28, 1865 
* Eyes - Brown; Hair - Light; Complexion - Sallow; Height - 5' 5" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Shoemaker 
* He was in the following battles: Fredericksburg; Chancelorsville and 
Gettysburg where he was wounded in the knee. 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Jan. 29, 1868, Application #131168, Certificate 
#43464
