* Buried in Reformed Cemetery, Meyersdale, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Battery A 1st W. Va. Light Artillery 
* Enlisted July 10, 1862 as Private 
* Discharged July 21, 1865 as Private at Wheeling, W. Va. by reason of 
expiration term of service 
* Served July 10, 1862 - July 21, 1865 - 36 month 11 days 
* Wounded, left leg broken while on duty at Sharpsburg. 
* Entitled to pension of $8 Feb. 18, 1907 and $12 per month from Apr. 19, 1908 
payable quarterly by U. S. Pension Agent at Pittsburgh, Pa. 
* Pension #708,944 
* Pension application: Certificate 269,979, broken leg $10; Filed Nov. 30, 1891 
for Lung trouble and Heart Disease caused by taking cold from a wetting in the 
Potomac River in Feb. 1864; Applied for increase June 22, 1896 for Heart Disease 
and Asthma, Granted Feb. 1897 at $12 per month 
* Adam was a soldier in Germany before he came to America.
