Sharrach, also known as Perry * Enlisted at Mitchell Salt Works * Volunteered for Andrews Raid Apr. 7, 1862 * Was captured soon after * Court-martialed, Knoxville, Tennessee; General Orders #54, 1862 Head Quarters Dept. of East Tennessee, Confederate States of America * Hanged June 18, 1862 at southeast cornor of Fair St ( Now Memorial Drive ) and South Park Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia. * Buried temporarily at the site of the execution * Remains removed to the National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Apr. 25, 1866 * Buried near Ohio Memorial, Section H, Grave #11,181 * He was 21 years, 6 months and 27 days of age on the day of the Raid. * Was not given the Congressional Medal of Honor SOURCE: * On line story of The Great Locomotive Chase
