* Born 1839 in Paint Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Died Dec. 7, 1864 in Nashville, Davidson Co. Tennessee 
* He was in an Iowa unit 
* Brother of Alfred, Christian, Cornelius and Ephraim 
* Christian was the only brother to survive the Civil War
