* Died Oct. 10, 1911 in Greenville Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Buried in White Oak Cemetery, 4829 Cumberland Hwy. Meyersdale, Somerset Co. 
Pa. 
* Private Co. C 54th Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Mustered in Sept. 30, 1861 
* Not on muster out roll 
* Served Sept. 4, 1861 - Sept. 4, 1864 
* Served Sept. 30, 1861 - July 15, 1865 - 45 month 15 days 
* Wounded in hip at Antietam 
* Disability - Abcesses under arms 
* Served in Mexican War 1846 - 1848 
* Pension application: Increase for gunshot wound of left hand and injury to 
left hip, Gets $17 wants $24 
* During the Mexican War he was in Mexico City with the Army of Occupation for 
three years. His troop was sent out to capture General Santa Ana, but the 
general had escaped and all they got was the carriage with Santa Ana's wooden 
leg and boot inside. 
* His company was assigned to bury the dead at Gettysburg.
