* Buried in Hostetler Cemetery, Greenville Twp. Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Private Co. K 171st Regiment Pa. Drafted Militia 
* Enlisted Oct. 24, 1862 at age 19 in Harrisburg, Pa. 
* Mustered in Nov. 1, 1862 in Harrisburg, Pa. for 9 months 
* Mustered out Aug. 6, 1863 with company at Harrisburg, Pa. 
* He was the champion wrestler of his regiment 
* Served Nov. 1, 1862 - Aug. 6, 1863 - 9 month 5 days
* Pension application: Struck by lightning near Little Washington, N. C.; 
Numbness and weakness of legs, Rheumatism and periodical attacks of Diarrhea 
which he believes to be the result of injury by lightning 
* Invalid Pension: Applied May 27, 1896 and Mar. 16, 1907, Application #1177966,
