* Corporal Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 21, 1862 at age 22 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Mustered in aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Deserted Jan. 21, 1863 at Belle Plain, Va. 
* Eyes - Dark; Hair - Light; Complexion - Dark; Height - 5' 7" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Blacksmith 
* He was in the battle of Fredericksburg. 
* Feb. 20, 1863 learn he has gone west.
