18, 1861 is removed under the provision of the act of Congress approved May 17, 
1886. He was absent without leave from October 18, 1861 to November 20, 1861, 
when he enlisted in Cols 54th Pa. Volunteers in which organization he spent 
until February 9, 1864, when he was transfreeed to this organization
