* Born Sept. 18, 1836 in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Died May 2, 1932 in Dixon, Illinois
* Buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, Illinois 
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 20, 1862 at age 24 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Eyes - Brown; Hair - Dark; Complexion - Fair; Height - 6' 2" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was left at the hospital at Frederick, Md. Oct. 1862 and returned to 
regiment unfit for duty on Jan. 1863. He was again sent to the hospital where he 
received his discharge 
* Jan. 4, 1865 he was examined by surgeon and found unfit for active service. 
* Transferred to Vet. Reserves Corps Mar. 28, 1865 
* Discharged July 28, 1865 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Apr. 28, 1882 and Sept. 17, 1908, Application 
#447835, Certificate #363189
