Pa. * Died July 12, 1863 in Ritchie Co. West Virginia * Buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ritchie Co. W. Va. * John was shot by a neighbor and died from the wound. He was part of the Underground Railroad. The neighbor who shot John was a Southern sympathizer. John lived long enough to name the person who shot him.
