* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 15, 1862 at age 18 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* Mustered out with company May 29, 1865 at the hospital after Lee's Surrender 
* Eyes - Gray; Hair - Light; Complexion - Fair; Height - 5' 4" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* He was in the following battles: Chancelorsville; Gettysburg; Wilderness; 
Laurel Ridge; Spottsylvania; North Ann River; Bethesda Church; Petersburg; 
Weldon R. R.; Popular Grove Church; Peebles Farm; Raid to Bellfield; Hatchers 
Run; Dabney Mills, where he was wounded in the neck Feb. 6, 1865
