* Born in Somerset Co. Pa. 
* Buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ceresco, Nebraska
* Private Co. F 142nd Regiment Pa. Infantry 
* Enrolled Aug. 15, 1862 at age 20 in Berlin, Somerset Co. Pa. by F. A. Edmunds 
* Mustered in Aug. 25, 1862 at Harrisburg, Pa. by Lieutenant Brayton, U. S. A. 
* On Dec. 12, 1862 George was struck in the ankle by a rifle ball when a stack 
of rifles were accidentally knocked over. He was sent to the hospital. 
* Eyes - Gray; Hair - Sandy; Complexion - Fair; Height - 5' 5" 
* Occupation at enrollment - Farmer 
* Transferred to Co. D 18th Regiment Infantry Reserves Corps on Aug. 15, 1863 
* Discharged June 29, 1865 by General Order 
* Invalid Pension: Applied Jan. 27, 1875 and Mar. 22, 1907, Application #200073,
