Pa. * Died 1862 * Buried on battle field at Fair Oaks Station * Private Co. B 85th Pa. Infantry * Enrolled Sept. 21, 1861 in Bradford, Pa. * Mustered in Nov. 7, 1861 in Uniontown, Pa. * Killed May 31, 1862 in action at Fair Oaks, Va. * Prior to the was, he married Mary Jane Christner and had a son J. Harvey. Jacob enlisted in Nov. 1861 and drilled at Uniontown, Pa.. While drunk there one night he married a second woman just before leaving town. Following his death, both widows stepped forward to claim his pension. It took years for the government to sort out which wife was which.
