* Died Jan. 21, 1892 in Bellingham, Whatcom Co. Washington 
* Buried at Bellingham, Whatcom Co. Washington 
* Sergeant Co. L 11th Regiment Kansas Cavalry 
* Enlisted Mar. 31, 1864 
* Mustered in Mar. 31, 1864 as Private 
* Promoted to Sergeant May 1864 
* Mustered out Sept. 26, 1865 with company 
* Brother of John, Harrison and Silas Younkin 
* In the winter of 1864 - 65 the 11th Kansas was ordered to the North Platte, 
Dakota Territory 
* In Jan. 1865 his company was ordered to Ft. Riley
