(Somerset, Pa.) February 3, 1892 Mr. George Benson, who resides near Bethel, this county, who was admitted to the Cambria Hospital at Johnstown a few days ago suffering from gangrene, the result of a broken leg, was compelled to have his right foot amputated Friday in order to save his life. Dr. J. C. Sheridan, under whose care he is, performed the operation and reports his patient as doing very nicely, with bright hopes for his ultimate recovery.
