Kephart Fatally Injured by Overturning of His Car Near Somerfield CONFLUENCE - Dec. 28 - Attorney John P Kephart, aged 43, of Philadelphia, son of former State Treasurer Harmon M. Kephart, and nephew of Justice John W. Kephart, of the State Supreme Court, died this morning at 6 o'clock in the Frantz Hospital. His death was caused by a skull fracture and lung puncture, suffered Sunday evening in an automobile wreck on the National Pike near Somerfield. Kephart's automobile overturned when one of the tires blew out. His wife, Mrs. Gertrude (Reid) Kephart, a native of Connellsville, who was traveling with her husband, suffered minor bruises and was discharged after receiving dispensary treatment after being brought to the Frantz Hospital with her husband. Attorney and Mrs. Kephart had been in Connellsville visiting the latter's mother and family and were enroute to Somerfield to take a relative to Connellsville at the time of the accident. John P. Kephart was graduated from the law school of George Washington University at Washington, D.C., about 20 years ago, and had since been engaged in the practice of his profession in Philadelphia. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Kephart is survived by a son, Reid Kephart, aged five, and a sister, Mrs. Clarence August, of Philadelphia. Meyersdale Republican, December 29, 1932
