  ACKERMAN

  Steven F. Ackerman, 49, of 408 Olinger St., Meyersdale, died Aug. 29, 2002,
  at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born March 28, 1953 in Bronx.
  NY., he was a son of Morris Ackerman, Long Beach, NY and the late Ethel
  (Commike) Ackerman.  In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife,
  Martha Jane (Beachy) Ackerman: one son, Jeremy Paul Ackerman, Berlin; one
  daughter, Heidi Christine Ackerman, Meyersdale; one brother and one sister,
  Don Ackerman and Sandra Ackerman, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and three
  grandchildren, Patrick Mitchell Shumaker, Tessa Marie and Nickolas
  Ackerman.  Was employed as a truck driver for Watkins Motor Lines and
  attended Meyersdale Grace Brethern Church.  Friends will be received from
  2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon
  Highway, Salisbury.  Services will be conducted at 2pm Sunday at Springs
  Mennonite Church with Rev. Daniel J. Yoder and Rev. Steven Heatwole
  officiating.  Interment, Springs Cemetery.  Expressinos of sympathy may be
  directed to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
