Allen, 54, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, shortly after being admitted in Memorial Hospital. He was born in Meyersdale, a son of the late Oscar and Emily (Donges) Allen, and attended Meyersdale schools. Mr. Allen was chief clerk to the general car foreman for Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, where he ws employed since 1927. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion, Brotherhood of Railways Clerks, and belonged to the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Mae Corle Allen; three sisers, Mrs. Casper S. Brown and Mrs. Nicholas Holshey of Cumberland and Mrs. Kirk Brant of Somerset. Funeral was Friday at 2pm in Silcox Funeral Home, the Rev. John F. Sammel officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Park. Meyersdalel Republican Dec 27, 1962 [A0161]
