  Ralph Porter Allen, 89, of Stoystown, died Sept. 13, 1998, at Somerset
  Hospital, Somerset.  Born Feb. 1, 1909, in Pittsburgh.  Son of the late
  William Wallace Allen and Anna Larea (Lowry) Allen.  Also preceded in death
  by wife, the former Martha Marie Miller, who died Aug. 19, 1991; son,
  Robert A. Allen; one brother, William W. Allen, and one sister, Mabel
  Doncals, Survived by son, Ralph Gordon Allen, married to the former Shirley
  Colditz, of Stoystown; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren;
  stepsister: Mrs. Helen Reisacher of Pittsburgh.  Attended St. Paul's
  Presbyterian Church, Somerset.  Past elder of Southside Presbyterian Church,
  Pittsburgh.  Machinist for Monogahela Connecting Railroad, a division of
  Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., retiring in 1974.  Friends received from 2-4
  and 7-9 pm Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home.  Services will be
  conducted at 10:30 am Friday at St. Pauls's Presbyterian Church, Somerset,
  with the Rev. Keith M. Fink officiating.  Interment, Royer Cemetery,
  Woodbury Township, Blair County.  Contributions may be sent to St. Paul's
  Presbyterian Church Haiti Fund, 132 E. Union Street, Somerset, Pa.  15501
