"Gene" Allison, 74, of Wingard Road, Hollsopple RD, died Dec. 15, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Nov. 15, 1929, in Johnstown, son of the late James K. and Margaret A. (Young) Allisonn. Survived by wife of 41 years, the former Barbara K. Pattison; children James R. "Rob" married to Barbara Bantly, Johnstown, Ruth Ann married to Seth B. Magliocca, Somerset, and Kathy J. married to Bradley K. Smith of Lancaster. Grandchildren Aaron, and Adam Allison and several cousins including James Young, Johnstown. Graduate of Ferndale High School, Johnstown. Member of the former Roxbury United Methodist Church, Johnstown. And attended Thomas Mennonite Church, Thomas Mills, since 1994 where he also taught Sunday school. Retired farmer and former employee of the Westmont School District. Korean War veteran having served as a corporal in the US Army in Korea. Freelanced articles for area newspapers for several years. Formerly had an egg route and delivered strawberries and vegetables in the Johnstown area. Friends received from 2-4 adn 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road Davidsville. Viewing also from 10 am until time of service 11 am Thursday at Mennonite Church. The Rev. D. Wayne Lasure and the Rev. Donald Spiegle officiating. Interment church cemetery.
