Born Dec. 17, 1915, in Gallitzin, beloved wife of Emil H. Alwine, deceased Oct. 28, 1986. Daughter of Celestine P. and Elsie (Howell) McCoy. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a sister and an infant son. Survived by these children, Theresa, widow of Ray Knapp, St. Stephen, S.C.; Donna Ragland, Somerset; David K., Somerset, and his ex-wife, Georgianna Denk Alwine, Somerset; Linda, married to David G. Johnson, Somerset; and Charles, married to the former Barbara Mishler, Woodbridge, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Guilda Simmons Buterbaugh, Melbourne, Fla. She is a former member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church Bens Creek and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Boswell. Most recently attended St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Former member of 55 Speeders Senior Citizens Somerset and the Ferndale Sportsmen Club and was a volunteer with the Area Agency on Aging. Retired cosmetology teacher at the former Hammond Beauty School, Johnstown and the Hiram G. Andrews Rehabilitation Center, Johnstown. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. The Rev. Father Daniel G. Fink officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 W.
