Ames Sr., 68, Indian Lake, passed away Jan. 26, 2004, at home. Born Feb. 1, 1935, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Harold and Alice (Woods) Ames. Preceded in death by parents and grandson Zachary. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survived by wife of 42 years, the former Rose M. Younker; children: Niomie, wife of Richard Collins, Deborah, wife of Russell Boyer, both of Central City, Samuel married to the former Barbara Oldham, Cairnbrook, Alice, wife of Charles Albright, Windsor, Va., Richard Jr. married to the former Wendy Meck, Hooversville. Also survived by 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Harold, Massachusetts; sister, Dorothy and foster sister, Evelyn, both of Delaware. Dick was a member of Berkey Church of the Brethren where he served as treasurer of the Sunday school class and men's fellowship. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Berkey Church, Windber. The Rev.
