William Anderson, 84, of 945 Seton Drive, Apartment 4, died November 10, 1981 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., following an illness of about three weeks. Rev. Mr. Anderson retired in 1978 after having served several United Methodist churches in the area. A native of Lonaconing, Md., he was the son of the late William and Minerva (Miller) Anderson. He was a retired clerk for the B & O Railroad, having retired in 1969 after 48 years service with the railroad. A member of the Mount Herman United Methodist Church, Rev. Mr. Anderson served the Oldtown Methodist Church from 1950 to 1959; the Eckhart Methodist Church from 1959 to 1965; the Springfield (WVa) United Methodist Church from 1965-66, and the Fairview Avenue United Methodist Church, Cumberland, from 1966 until his retirement in 1978. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Iona (Pratt) Anderson; a son, Roger W. Anderson, Cumberland, Md., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Scott, Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Marian Castle, Lonaconing Md.; and Mrs. Minerva Biddle, Akron, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
