Born Nov. 25, 1896, in Hooversville, son of the late Issac and Ann Maria (Peterman) Ankeny. Preceded in death by son, McKinley; one brother; and four sisters. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Charlotte) Nelson, Orlando Fla.; Mrs. Edna Greathouse, Windber; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandaughter. Brother of Mrs. Susie Keith of Hooversville. Retired coal miner and farmer. World War I Army veteran, having served in the medical corps at Verdun, France. Family will receive friends 7-9 pm Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, the Rev. J. Wesley Spahn officiating.
