Born Jan. 9, 1911, in Jefferson Township, the daughter of Frank Henry and Lillie Dale (Gardner) Showman. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Fredrick W. Ankney, who died May 19, 1979; sister, Mabel G. Showman; brothers, Earl, Homer, Walter and Oren Showman. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Ruth Baker and Leona Shaffer. She was the oldest member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Bakersville where she was a choir member and taught children's Sunday School. Also a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Also a life member of Bakersville Fireman's Auxiliary. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger- Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and one hour prior to service 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Elisa A.
