Ansell Sr., 70 of Somerset went to be with the Lord Aug. 19, 2003, at Somerset Hospital. Born March 3, 1933, in Indian Head, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Patterson) Ansell. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Janet Sadler. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Geraldine (Pritts) Ansell, children Valerie, married to Rev. Thomas Horner of Meyersdale, Harold Jr., married to Brenda Ansell of Somerset, David (and fiance Roxanne McKenzie) Ansell of Somerset, Melanie, married to Ben Cramer Sr. of Somerset, Tim, married to Carla Ansell of Connellsville and Robert, married to Michelle Ansell of Elizabethtown, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Rev. Arnold Ansell of Rockwood, Elwood of Rockwood, John of Mont Alto, Hubert of Inglewood, Fla., Clarence Jr. of Markleton, Rev. George Ansell of Inglewood, Frank of Rockwook, and sisters Vernadine Gary of Somerset and Enid Schultz, Shirley Geary, Beverly Mognet, and Carol Judy all of Rockwood. He was a retired carpenter who was a member of Carpenters' Union Local 2274. He was a construction superintendent for Marsolino Construction in Uniontown. He was a member of Laurel Mountain Chapel in Trent and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday and Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 am Saturday at Laurel Mountain Chapel, Rev. Don Judy officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
