Born in Moyer on May 22, 1907, he was the son of the late George David and Lucinda (Porterfield) Ansell. He was employed in Ridgeley, WVa. for 25 years as a carman for the Western Maryland Railway. He serviced in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a member of Zion Lutheran and Reformed Church, Wellersburg, and Charles E. Kelly Post 112, American Legion, Meyersdale. Surviving are his widow, Grace (Gomer) Ansell; one son, David Ralph Ansell, Meyersdale RD 4; one daughter, Ms Anna Lou Cronin, Manchester, Md.; two grandchildren, six step brothers, one half sister and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted by the Rev. Harold W. Crabtree. Interment, Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md., Military honors were accorded by members of Charles E. Kelly American Legion Post. The Republic Oct. 23, 1986 [A0297]
