Ansell Sr., Connellsville RD 2, died March 25, 1988, in the Highlands Hospital and Health Center. Born Aug. 3, 1918, at Pennsville, Pa., a son of the late Elmer and Jane E. (Cramer) Ansell. Employed by the US Steel Co. for 42 years and at his retirement was a mine foreman of the Maple Creek Mine. Member of the Eagles, a veteran of World War II, member of the VFW Post of Scottdale and the American Legion Post of Everson. Member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife, Julia Mae (Street) Ansell; four sons: James E., Little Summit, Pa; Thomas R. Jr., Connellsville; Rodney S., Rogersville; and Ben E., Mount Pleasant; daughter, Mrs. Paul (Violet) Costello, Connellsville, 12 grandchildren, four brothers: Jesse, Wilbert and Martin, all of Scottdale, Pa.; and Roy, Greenville, Pa.; three sisters: Mrs. Anna Peterson and Mrs. Bessie Hoffman, both of Scottdale; and Betty Ansell, Gary, Ind. Preceded in death by daughter, Judy A., in 1963; five infant children, a brother and four sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today (Monday) at the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, where service will be held Tuesday at 11 am., with the Rev. David Hixson and the Rev. Robert Bixel officiating. Interment will follow, Scottdale Cemetery. Daily American March 28, 1988 [A0301]
