  John APPEL
  
  John Appel, 83, son of the late William C. and Bertha (Deeter) Appel, died
  May 3, 2001 at Santa Paula, Calif., Home Health Center.  John was a graduate
  of Somerset High School Class of 1937.  Veteran of the US Army serving in
  World War II.  He was a missile development specialist for the US Navy at
  Point Mugu, Calif. for 35 years.  He is survived by his wife Joy (Clark)
  Appel and his brother Fred Appel of Canfield, Ohio.
