   Deloris E. "Betty" (Harker) Appelgate, 80, Country Manor Living, Jerome,
  formerly of Somerset and Boswell, died April 9, 2006, at Memorial Medical
  Center, Main Campus. Born Dec. 7, 1925, in Portage, daughter of Ira P. and
  Matilda G. (McKinney) Harker. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Lillian
  Spiker and her husband, Charles "Busty" Spiker; brother, Leonard Harker;
  brothers-in-law, Malcom Furniss and Jim Davies and infant brothers, George and
  Harris Harker. Survived by husband, Stanley B. Appelgate, to whom she has been
  married since June 14, 1952; sons, David L. Appelgate, Latrobe, Daniel J.
  Appelgate, married to former Darlene Mellott, Johnstown, and Nathan E.
  Appelgate, married to former Karen Yaste, Quemahoning Township; daughter,
  Priscilla A. Appelgate, Columbus, Ohio, sisters, Maletha Davies, Nevada, Miss.,
  Audrey, married to the Rev. Richard Lambert, Hollsopple, Elaine, married to
  Sanford Hess, Bernville and Beverly Furniss, Johnstown; brother, Arnold Harker,
  married to former Helen Zoltai, Blough, and sister-in-law, Anna (Byers) Harker,
  Davidsville. Attended Ferndale High School and graduated from the International
  Bible College, San Antonio, Texas. Retired employee of the garment industry and
  Memorial Medical Center. A loving wife and mother, who spent most of her
  married life raising her children. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday
  at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Thomas Kroll officiating.
  Interment, Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple.
