Appling Sr., 77, of Hyndman RD 1, died Wednesday, March, 27, 1985, Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born in Ada, Mo., June 8, 1907, son of the late William Appling and Nancy L. (Gumfory) Appling. He had resided in the Hyndman area for the past 41 years. He was a self employed creative decorator and famer, a member of the Fairhope Community Church, and a chareter member of the Hyndman Senior Citizens, for which he formerly served as driver. Surviving are his widow, the former Goldie M. Divelbiss; one son, James D Appling Jr., Hyndman RD 1; one daughter, Mrs. Maryjewel L. Moskey, also of Hyndman RD 1; five grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Appling, Iola, Kans,; and a sister, Mrs. Leona Harbin, Hyndman. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted by the Rev. Leroy Logsdon. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, near Cumberland. The Republic April 4, 1985 [A0315]
