Arklie succumbed to a heart attack Saturday, April 24, at 5:45 p.m., at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Shockey, in Greenville Twp., where he had been making his home. Mr. Arklie was born February 24, 1873, in Pennsylvania, and was aged 75 years and two months at the time of his death. He was a son of William H. and Louise (Weimer) Arklie. His wife, Maggie (Kline) Arklie, and a daughter, Mrs. Simon Dietle, preceded him in death. John Arklie, brother, and Mrs. Irvin Shockey and Mrs. Joshua McKenzie, sisters, all of Meyersdale, R.D. 3, survive, as do also three daughters - Mrs. Peter Wery, Youngstown, O.; Mrs. Russell Flemins of Syracuse, and Mrs. Clyde Allison of Erie, and nine grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Price Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 27, in charge of Rev. Wilson G. Cole, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, with interment in White Oak Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son, morticians. Meyersdale Republican, April 29, 1948
