"Stormy" Armagost, 70, of Hooversville died Jan. 27, 1993, at Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown. Born Aug. 8, 1922, in Hooversville. Son of the late Blair and Ruth (Wilt) Armagost. Survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Betty Zeigler, and these children; Charlene, married to Joseph Potochar, and Gayle Maschue, both of Hooversville, and Karl, married to the former Susan Parsel of Evergreen, Colo. Grandchildren: Raynice and Casey Maschue and Damon Armagost. Brother of Betty Blough, Sykesville, Md.; Geraldine Wagner of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry and Rodney, both of Panama City, Fla., and Rev. Larry of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was also a retired colonel and battalion commander of 103rd Armored Division, Pennsylvania National Guard. Army veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict. Lifetime member of Hooversville United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was president and former secretary and longtime memeber of Hooversville Lions Club. A Melvin Jones Fellow. Former deputy district governor of Lions District 14 M. He was Hooversville Citizen of the Year recipient in 1985. Former North Star School Board member. Member of the VFW, Water Authority, Rescue Squad and POS of A Cemetery Board, all of Hooversville, and Oakbrook Golf Course, He was also a Red Cross volunteer. Family will receive friends from 4-9 pm Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. There will be viewing from 9am at Hooversville United Methodist Church until time of service at 10am Saturday, Rev. Larry Fink. Interment, POS of A Cemetery, Hooversville.
