  BERTRAM "BERT" E. ASH
  
  Bertram "Bert" E. Ash, 37, Buckstown, died Aug. 3, 2004, at his residence.  Born 
  Aug. 14, 1966, in Topeka, Kan.  Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, 
  Silas and Nellie Ash and maternal grandparents, George and Pearl Berkley. 
  Surviving are his wife of 10 years, the former Sherry Shaffer; his parents James 
  and Anna (Berkley) Ash, Buckstown; a daughter, Ashley, at home; brothers, James 
  and Lewis, both of Buckstown and Silas, married to the former Judy Spory, Thomas 
  Mills. Graduate of Shade-Central City High School, class of 1985, and was a 
  former employee of Action Hardware, Somerset.  He attended Abundant Life 
  Christian Center, Berlin.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
  p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a service will be held 
  11 a.m. Thursday.  The Rev. Samuel L. Coughenour officiating.  Interment, 
  Buckstown Cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to 
  the Ashley Ash Trust Fund c/o First National Bank, Stoystown, Pa. 15563.
