Ash, 29, native and former resident of Garrett, was instantly killed last Saturday afternoon while at work in a coal mine, near his home in Luciusboro, Indiana County, Pa., when caught between a shuttle car and the rib of the mine at the Waterman No. 2 operation of the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company.
