  Violet ASH
  
  Violet Irene Ash, 79, of Meadow View Nursing Home, Berlin, formerly of
  Somerset RD 6, died April 14, 1996, at the home.  Born Nov. 2, 1916, in
  Somerset County, daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Lenhart) Brandt.
  Preceded in death by husband, Merle K. Ash, and sister, Goldie Lepley.
  Survived by these children: Helen Bell, Somerset RD 3; Maxine, wife of
  Harry Rankin, Somerset RD 7, and Ray L. and Randy Lee, both of Somerset RD
  6; also 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
  Member of Bakersville Lutheran Church.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm
  Tuesday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be
  conducted at 1:30 pm Wednesday, Rev. John Timm.  Interment, Bakersville
