Ash, 77, of Homer City RD 3, died Sunday, December 4, 1994 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 8, 1916 in Garrett, he was the son of the late Silas and Nellie (Smith) Ash. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene and Charles Ash; and a sister, Naomi Weaver. He is survived by his wife Mabel I Albight Ash; 3 sons: William E., Johns Island, SC; Thomas J., Homer City RD 3; and Timothy, Jr. of Blairsville; five daughters: Alice Zemba of Black Lick; Jean Peterson of Blairsville; Rita Zimmerman of Sipesville; Susan Ash Miller of Blairsville; and Sally DeArmett of Homer City RD 1. Mr. Ash is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James Ash of Stoystown; and four sisters: Mrs. Anna Emmerick of Ellerslie, Md., Mrs. Mae Angelo of Friedens; Ms. Ellen Romesberg of Rockwood RD 1; and Mrs. Dorothy Hartman of Garrett. Family received friends at the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsville Sunday and Monday. Services were held at the chapel of the funeral home Tuesday with the Rev. Ronald A. Wallace officiating. Interment Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Brushvalley Township. New Republic Dec. 8, 1994
