  Thelma ASHENFELTER
  
  Thelma L. Ashenfelter, 58, of 524 Franks Lane, Cumberland, Md.  died
  Thursday, Jan. 4, 1990, at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC.
  
  She was born in Cumberland, Md., Nov.  17, 1931, the daughter of the late
  Oliver M. Evans Sr. and Edna E. (Stewart) Evans.
  
  She was volunteer worker at the Allegany County Nursing Home; was a member
  of Davis Memorial Methodist Church, St. John's Mixed Bowling League, and
  the Musical Ladie's Bowling League.
  
  Surviving are her husband, Robert H. Ashenfelter Sr.; one son, Robert H.
  Ashenfleter II, Wiely Ford, WVa.; three daughters, Georgette D. Smith,
  Mount Savage, MD; Rebecca L. Murphy, Meyersdale; and Edna E. Wright,
  Cumberland, MD.; four brothers, George W. Evans, Oliver M. Evans Jr.,
  Charles F. Evans, and N. "Frankie" Evans, all of Cumberland, MD; four
  sisters, Mary Ann Appel, Hagerstown, MD; Edna Mae Hefner, Cumberland, MD;
  Shirely D. Lease, Fairfax, Va.; and Laura Lee Watts, Wiley Ford, WV; and
  nine grandchildren.  Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home,
  Virginia Ave where services were conducted Monday at 1pm by the Rev.
  William T. Merki.  Interment, Davis Memorial Cemetery.
