Kenneth Ashman, pastor of the Meyersdale and Summit Mills Brethren churches, and wife of Rev. Charles H. Ashman of Whittier, Cal., died last Friday night at her home in Whittier. Rev. C. H. Ashman was pastor of the First Brethren Church of Johnstown for 14 years and was well known as a pastor and Evangelist. The family left Johnstown in 1935 for Whittier, where Rev. Ashman accepted the pastorate of the Brethren Church in that city. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ashman leaves six children - Rev. Kenneth Ashman, Meyersdale; Ruth, wife of Philip Lersch, Ashland, O.; Rev. Robert Ashman, Peru, Ind.; Mary, wife of Rev. Thomas Hammers, Tracy, Cal.; Donald Ashman, with the U.S. Army in Florida, and Charles Ashman, at home. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and a number of relatives in Michigan, Mrs. Ashman's native state. Funeral services were conducted in Whittier on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
