Born Nov. 29, 1946, in Pittsburgh, son of William L. Atkinson Sr. and Jayne (Conick) Atkinson. A graduate of the Gilmour Academy, Gates Mills Ohio, who attended Waynesburg College, Waynesburg, Pa. Veteran of the United States Army, 101st Airborne, serving in Italy and Vietnam; awarded the Bronze Star at Hamburger Hill, during the Tet Offensive. Owner of Plateau Supply, Somerset. Coahced AYSO soccer for many years, as well as serving on its board of directors. Survived by mother, Jayne C. Atkinson, Fox Chapel; father, William L. Atkinson Sr., and wife Eloise, Carlsbad, Calif.; beloved daughters: Molly Brooke Acree Atkinson and Paige Erin Laird Atkinson, both of Somerset; sister, Barbara A. Dick, wife of David E. Dick, Fox Chapel; and loving nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Katie, Emily, Andrew and Zachary, all of Fox Chapel. He is, indeed, missed and carried in spirit by a multitude ofo bereaved friends and soulmates. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be welcomed by the Leukemia Society of America, 600 Third Ave, New York, NY 10016.
