Clarence Augustine, 46, World War I veteran and prominent livestock dealer of the southwestern section of Somerset County, was found dead in bed Tuesday afternoon at the Reitz Hotel, Addison, where he made his home. Death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Augustine was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Augustine, both deceased, and was a member of the United States balloon corps during World War I. In addition to being engaged in the livestock business Mr. Augustine owned and operated two farms between Addison and Somerfield. Surviving are three brothers - Thomas Augustine, Viewmont Avenue, Johnstown; Edgar Augustine, Addison, and John Augustine, Uniontown. He also leaves a nephew, C. L. Harmony of Napoleon Street, Johnstown. His only son, Harmon Kephart Augustine, was accidently drowned five years ago. A brother, Ros Augustine, died in 1925. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock this Thursday afternoon at the Edgar Augustine home, Addison. Interment in the Addison Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, November 19, 1942
