Auman, 59, Chambersburg RD 9, died Sunday, May 5, in Chambersburg Hospital. Born Aug. 3 1914, in Roxbury, Somerset County, he was the son of Mahala Knieriem and the late Russell E. Auman of Acosta. He was a member and Sergeant Major of the Salvation Army Corps. He was a former employe of Letter Kenny Army Deopt. He retired in July 1970. In addition to his mother who resides at 2004 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, he is survived by his wife, the former Sarah Wise and the following children: Garrett, Walnut Port Acres, Pa; Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Kriner, Chambersburg RD 3; Mrs Franklin (Althea) McClure, Chambersburg RD 9; Robert, Paul and Charles, all of York, Pa.; Leonard, Folcraft, Pa.; and Leah of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Eugene at home, 15 grandchildren; also the following brothers and sisters: Clinton and Mrs. William (Dorothy) McCabe, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Belva Hartman and Mrs. Rosale C. Sipe, 2004 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg; Elwood, Tyer, Pa.; Elroy of York; and Russell T. of Dallastown, Pa. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Thrusday in Salvation Army Citadel, 159 Lincoln Way, West Chambersburg, with Major and Mrs. James Miller and Major and Mrs. Lawrence Moretz officiating.
