AUSTIN, 77, Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Somerset, died Oct. 31, 1986 in St. Joseph Villa, Salt Lake City. Born July 17, 1909, in Northfield, Vt., son of Albert and Hattie (Tucker) Austin. Preceded in death by parents; four brothers and two sisters. Survived by wife, former Mary Van Order; and sons, Dr. Van, and Daivd, both of Salt Lake City; and James, Sandy, Ore.; also granddaughter, Alicia. Also survived by brothers, Kenneth, Eldon, and Jasper, all of Vermont. Former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. Former owner of Oldsmobile dealership, Somerset Welding and Steel, and Austin Memorials, all in Somerset. Avid bridge player and founded Somerset Duplicater Bridge Club.
