Austin, 73, of LaVale, Md., died March 29, 1996, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born July 22, 1922, in Meyersdale. A son of the late Lee and Stella (Miller) Austin. Survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Marguerite S. Spence, and two sons: Edward M. Austin II, Morgantown, WVa.; and Robert S. Austin, Bricktown, NJ. Three grandchildren: Jaclyn, Bill and Tricia. A brother of : William Austin, East Palestine, Ohio; Ethel Walsh, Pittsburg; Robert Austin, Evelyn Bradenton, Fla. Also two special nieces; Marguerite Forrest, Meyersdale, and Kathy Bender, Morgantown. Member of LaVale United Methodist Church and Disabled American Veterans. Veteran of the US Army WWII, where he served with the 28th Div., 112th Inf. in France and Germany. Retired manager of HP Stores with 31 years of service. Also was a courier for the 1st United Bank & Trust of Oakland, Md. Friends will be received from 7-9 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, whwere service will be conducted at 11 am Monday with Pastor Glen Dameron officiiating.
